Three account perks

Arcane Tempo
Halves standard magic attack delay against NPCs, rounded up with a 2-tick minimum. PvP and special attacks are excluded.

Guardian Resolve
Reduces all damage received from NPCs by 5%.

Vampiric Rhythm
Each successful hit against an NPC has a 10% chance to restore 1 Hitpoint.
Pick the Tempo perk for the style you use most. Guardian Resolve and Vampiric Rhythm work across your NPC combat styles. Swapping to ranged does not automatically turn Arcane Tempo into Ranged Tempo.
Equipment upgrades to consider
Obsidian Life Spark
A successful weapon hit has a 20% chance to restore 1 Hitpoint.
Obsidian Spirit Siphon
A successful weapon hit has a 10% chance to restore 1 Prayer point.
Obsidian Aegis
Each non-zero NPC hit has a 1-in-12 chance to deal 25% less damage.
Bring magic and ranged equipment, food, prayer supplies and proper poison or venom protection. Learn phase positioning and protection prayers. An Antivenom Ward is only a chance to cure poison after damage, so it is not reliable venom prevention.
A useful swap
For a ranged-led approach, replace Arcane Tempo with Ranged Tempo. Do not equip both. Later, replace Vampiric Rhythm with the Focus perk matching your main style or Boss Instinct.

Before you spend
Check perk compatibility, compare permanent upgrades and review Forge materials. Socketed effects require worn matching gear; they cannot bypass the one-Tempo or one-Focus rules.
Zulrah encounter reference covers baseline OSRS mechanics, not custom Obsidian effects or server access requirements.
