Forge materials and perk tomes

Physical ingredients, exact recipes and what to do with the finished tome.

Collect, then craft

Ordinary PvM, bosses, Slayer, raids and eligible skilling actions provide physical Obsidian materials. PvM materials appear as ground drops: pick them up and bank what you are saving. Sigils and Cores do not replace the normal Gielinor equipment you earn.

  1. Open the Forge at home

Bring the required materials in your inventory. Choose Sigils, Tomes or the relevant recipe category.

  2. Inspect a recipe

Select the result and read its effect, ingredients and quantity before crafting. The game checks your current materials.

  3. Forge a specific tome

A perk-specific tome teaches that named perk. An Ancient Perk Tome is an ingredient for many recipes, not a substitute for every specific tome.

  4. Read and equip

Read the finished tome to permanently learn its perk. Open Equipped Tomes to choose which learned effects are active.

Finding your next ingredient

Use the in-game drop search to look up the exact material, or examine a monster to review its drop table. Different activities use different material profiles; there is no honest single guaranteed farming spot for every tome. The perk catalogue lists the base recipe for every specific tome.
